Spontaneously combusting in 2001 on the
shores of beautiful Pawtuckaway Lake, the then yet to be
named EffenGees jammed in a Seaplane hangar. Unknown to us,
locals would "raft-up" their boats and dance to
our
music, so we were stunned when our first gig opportunity
came to us from one of these "eavesdroppers".
Since those early days, we have played out
at public and private venues; bars, corporate events, block
parties, town celebrations, and even time "in
studio" building "The
Effengees Christmas Tree" album (a charity
fundraiser).
This eclectic rock and roll nucleus is built
on friendship - everyone gets along and the fun is
unstoppable and contagious! Frontman Tom
Duffy engages the audience with wit and enthusiasm while
band members trade licks and laughs with each other and the
crowd. It’s not unusual for someone singing along to get
dragged onstage to join the band.
Playing everything from Aerosmith to ZZ Top
with raw energy, we say “never bring a chair, you won’t
need it”.
